Ezekiel 42:15 NASB95 Now when he had finished measuring the inner house, he brought me out by the way of the gate which faced toward the east and measured it all around.
When people look at a man they measure them by what they see on the outside. Yet when we talk about God, we say He measures a man by what is inside.
The fact is when God measured His dwelling place, He measured both the inside and the out. We are His temple, and He looks at His believer's life both inside and out.
God says, what are the desires of their innermost parts, and how do they show me to the world? This is not speaking of salvation because God only indwells those who abide in Christ.
Since we abide IN Christ, our outside measure should match His inside measure.
Our outside actions should measure up to the inside desire of Christ.
If God were to measure you today, how would you measure up?
Would your inside measure up with the outside of God? Are your desires, His desires? Do you desire inside to be like God? Do you desire to be Holy, Righteous, Just, Merciful, Gracious, Loving, and Forgiving?
If God were to measure you today, how would you measure up? Are your actions like His actions? Do you live out a life that represents God and shows Him to the world? Do you live a life that looks different than the lives of the world? Do you live a right life? Are you willing to empty yourself in humility? Do you sacrifice of yourself for others? Do you show love through truth and justice? Are you forgiving of others who attack you for being Christlike?
While we are sinners in our flesh we must not forget that we are raised to WALK a new life. That life isn't just a quiet inward life of Christ but is also a bold outward life of Christ.
How do you measure up?
Love Bro. Scott
