‭Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

The power of forgiveness is an amazing thing. It is through this power that God accepts us into eternal life. Jesus paid our debt. The sins of our death have been nailed to the cross. In this, God forgives us our trespasses. What an amazing gift the forgiveness of God is. I am guilty of all sin and deserve eternal death. However, Jesus paid my debt and God forgave me and gave me life. When someone sins against me, what is my response? What is your response when they sin against you? Do we forgive like God or do we hold on to the hate of them and their actions? Many will say if they will seek my forgiveness then I will forgive. We must not forget their sin debt was paid whether they seek our forgiveness or not. Jesus paid in full the debt of sin. So whether they seek or ask for your forgiveness or not, in order to be like God, you need to forgive. They might not be willing to accept your forgiveness just like many won't accept God's but that has no bearing on whether you are called to forgive. ‭in fact, Jesus tells us it is imperative that we forgive, in ‭Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

We are required to forgive. Now I am not saying it is easy. Forgiving someone who doesn't seek or care whether we forgive or not is probably one of the hardest things to do. So how do we do it? We are told in Hebrews 4: 16Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

God will provide us Grace and mercy in a time of need and there is no greater time of need than when you are called to forgive someone who has no remorse for destroying your life or a period therein. Whatever hurt you are tethered to because you have not been able to forgive the source of that hurt, release yourself now. You can do this by approaching the Throne of Grace and receiving a measure of Grace to enable you to forgive. Then watch God break the chains that have bound you to the hurt. I am praying that today you will be made alive together with Jesus, having forgiven those who trespass against you as God has forgiven and forgotten all our transgressions. Love Bro. Scott
