You have no need to worry, ever! Because God's promises will always come to pass. They will never be thwarted. When He makes a promise to us it is more of a surety than death or taxes. I know this might be hard to believe after April 15th but it is true. In our text today we see the great links God went to so evil would be punished and yet His promise kept. 2 Chronicles 22:11 But Jehoshabeath the king’s daughter took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons who were being put to death, and placed him and his nurse in the bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah so that she would not put him to death.
God made a promise to David in 2 Samuel 7:16 Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”
To keep His promise He orchestrated an amazing way of punishing the evil acts of King Ahaziah (a descendant of David) and yet keeping His promise to David. Years before God orchestrated a plan. He had a daughter born to King Jehoram, marry a priest. With Godly leadership, she desired to please God. As the sister of King Ahaziah, she had access to her brother's (the king's) family. When the king's mother saw a chance to rule at the death of her son King Ahaziah, she went to kill all her grandchildren. However, because God always keeps His promises and because He knows all things, Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the sister of King Ahaziah, and the wife of Jehoiada the priest, took her nephew, Joash, the next heir to the throne and hid him in the temple with his nurse. With the orchestration of God's plan, evil was punished and His promise was kept. Since God went through all of this just to keep his promise to one man, imagine what He did to keep this promise to all in Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
I will share something with you. You don't have to imagine because we are told in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
So now as I said you have no need to worry because God has promised you:
Psalms 37:23-24 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
Isaiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”
I could keep going but I will end with this we have no reason to worry because God promises in Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I've never liked the saying or song Don't worry, be happy. It should be Don't worry, Be still and trust God! Love Bro. Scott
