Nehemiah 2:18 NASB95 I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me and also about the king’s words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us arise and build.” So they put their hands to the good work.

Has the hand of God been favorable to you? Did you wake up this morning? Are you breathing? Do you have the salvation offered through Jesus? If not, then you do have the opportunity to receive salvation through Jesus. Will you have opportunities to glorify God today? I would say that you have the hand of God on you, and He is bestowing favor on you in a bountiful way.

Everyone who has ever lived has had the hand of God bless them with life, which was breathed into man. This is an abundance of favor.

Nehemiah said he shared the king's words which he had spoken. The King of Kings has spoken His word to us. We call it the Holy Bible. It is the message of God explaining to us our need for a Savior. It explains how our sins have a wage of death which is due and must be paid. It explains to us how God's Son Jesus (the second half of the Trinity) paid our debt through His death and provided us a way to life eternal through His resurrection. It explains to us the love, mercy, grace, righteousness, holiness, and justice of God. All of this message from God is His favorable hand bestowing blessings on all of mankind.

Nehemiah says that when the people heard, they said Let us arise. They went to work because of the favor of God and the message of the King. It was their way of showing thankfulness for God's favor.

We have God's favor and His word tells us how to show are thanks. It is through obedience to His command.

The King said, Rebuild the wall. Our Lord and King says, Grow my Kingdom. Matthew 28:19-20 NASB95 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Show your thankfulness for His hand of favor is upon you!

Love Bro. Scott
