When a Christian shares the Gospel, it is not to receive a pat on the back.
When a Christian shares the Gospel, it is not because it makes them feel good.
When a Christian shares the Gospel, it is not to earn anything.
When a Christian shares the Gospel, it is not to reach a quota.
When a Christian shares the Gospel, it is not to fulfill a program.
None of these are reasons that Christians share the gospel.
So why do we share the gospel?
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:16 NASB95 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do not preach the gospel.
When I proclaim the good news of Jesus, I can't go back and say, " Hey, look at me, I shared the gospel. Because I didn't do it for glory. I did it because I felt like I couldn't help myself.
I felt like it was necessary.
Not like I was on fire and sharing would stop the burning. Because Jesus already did that for me. It is more like someone I love is on fire and I have a bucket of water (the gospel). I can't just set the bucket down and watch! I am compelled to; I have to throw it on them!!!
It is not like I am suffering under compulsion of freezing at the South Pole with no coat and sharing the gospel will warm me up and make me feel comforted. Because Jesus already comforts me in the warmth of His arms. It is more like someone I love is freezing at the South Pole without a coat, and I have a key to a heated room right next to them (the gospel). I can't just stay in the comfort and warmth and leave them out to freeze while watching them suffer! I am compelled to; I have to unlock the door and welcome them into the comfort and warmth!!!
It's not like I am about to suffer a long time in pain and then die of cancer, but sharing the gospel will cure me. So I go out and share. Jesus has already cured me of the sin sickness of death. Instead, it is more like someone I love has cancer and is going to spend a long time suffering and then die. However, I have the cure (the gospel). I can't just keep it in my mind and let them suffer knowing what they are going to go through. I have to share the cure and watch them live life!!!
Paul's compulsion wasn't If I don't share the gospel, woe is me; I will go to hell. It is: I am under compulsion that if I don't share the gospel, woe is me; the people I love will go to Hell. I can't accept that. I have to share!!!
When a Christian shares the Gospel, it is because they love you!!!
It is not for money, fame, or comfort. It is always out of love.
It doesn't matter if it is a Pastor, a Sunday School Teacher, a Deacon, or a layman. If they are a Christian, they share because they care!!!

Acts 4:20 NASB95 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
That is a Christian! And we are under compulsion to share!
