Hebrews 10:5 NASB95 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, “SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;

Jesus when He comes from heaven to Earth says this, "SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED." The Levitical priest have said all along that this was required. However, they have missed many verses like Psalm 40:6-8 NASB95 Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”

The purpose of the sacrifice and offering was never meant for eternal forgiveness but to point toward the one who could provide it.

Jesus the Son of God as Spirit needed a body or else he could not be sacrificed for eternal forgiveness in mercy and eternal life in grace. So God the Father scripture says, "A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME." This was quoted from the 40th Psalm as are the quotes from verse 6-8. There is a slight variation due to translation but overall it is the same quotes. Jesus body was prepared in the womb of a virgin so the seed of woman could be the fulfillment of the prophecy and the salvation of the world.

Verse 7 says Hebrews 10:7 NASB95 “THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’”

It was planned. It was prepared. It was proclaimed. It was portrayed by the Levitical priest as a prophetic illustration, and it was performed in perfect execution, as He is the only way possible. All this happened so mankind could be saved from His sin.

I am so thankful for God's plan and the fulfillment of it was illustrated in the Old testament so it would be recognized in the new when it happened.

Trust in the perfect plan and the only way to truth and life which is Jesus!
