When driving on some of the roads in our great nation, it might surprise you to know that the United States of America has possession of over $1.09 trillion worth of road pavement material in storage. That is right; as you drive through those potholes, right now, sitting in storage is $1.09 trillion worth of pavement. Owned by the federal government.

Where is this pavement stored? Well, it is kept in four locations the most well-known is called, the Fort Knox Gold Depository. Scripture describes the streets of the new Jerusalem this way. Revelation 21:21 NASB1995 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

We have banked our future security on pavement.

Many people build up earthly wealth only to find it has no eternal joy connected to it. They often find it contains very little to no earthly joy either.

For example, Walter Samaszko Jr. left Chicago in the 1960's after the suspicious death of his father. With the father having possible ties to the mob, he and his mother left Chicago and moved to Carson City Nevada. He lived in a modest three-bedroom home and became a recluse. Hardly leaving his home after the death of his mother. He died in 2012. He was dead in his house for over a month when neighbors called the police due to a horrid odor coming from the home. With no known relatives and no will, the state took over the home. When they sent in cleaning crews to clean out his home they found ammo cans in his garage filled with gold valued at $7.4 million.

Little to no joy on earth, was valued at $7.4 million. He left this world and took nothing with him.

Matthew 6:19-20 NASB1995 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;

You can work your whole life and build up wealth but in the end the best you can hope for is pavement.

Or

You can rely on the Creator who wants to be your Father through faith in Jesus, leaving you an imperishable inheritance. 1 Peter 1:3-7 NASB95 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Gold or eternal life in the presence of the Lord.

I have seen potholes in pavement, but not once, have I ever heard of a pothole in the kingdom of God.

Love Bro. Scott

Imagine a person who wants what is best for his family, so to avoid the decline of morality he takes them to a deserted island where he plans on raising them away from the immorality of civilization.
