Do you feel trapped?

We often wake up feeling as if we have no choice but to surrender to the world in defeat. Our jobs have us beaten down, our family has us weighted down, our situation has us pressed down, our schedule has us worn down, our health has us feeling down, and our idols have let us down; we are just plain down.

Israel felt this way as they were surrounded by a sea in front of them, mountains on both sides and an army behind them. They were down to their last hope. Exodus 14:10 NASB95 As Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the LORD.

At this point, you might feel like you can't even cry out to the Lord. You might even feel like He doesn't care. You think you have a choice of defeat by an army of haters, drowning in a sea of chaos, or falling down after scratching and clawing your way up the side of a mountain of self-reliance.

However, if you will surrender and just cry out to the Lord you will be amazed at what He will do for you. Exodus 14:13-16 NASB95 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever. “The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward. “As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land.

God will divide the chaos. He will make it stand up at attention. He will bring it to order. He will dry the quagmire of living and give your feet a dry path of life. He will fight off the down and out and lift you up to the mountain of praise if you will just take a step of faith toward Him!

Don't doubt His Salvation. Instead, in faith quit focusing on the down and out feeling of living. Quit climbing and clawing up your own path. Just cry out to the Lord, take a step of faith into the sea of chaos, and watch God pave your Way with the Way of Jesus, the Way of Truth, the Way of Life.

He will break open the cell and give you freedom. Now that is life without fear and it comes in complete obedience and faith.
