1 Corinthians 1:23 NASB95 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,

Let's be clear: when we proclaim Christ crucified, it will cause problems.

The problems affect both the lost and the saved. For the lost, the cross of Christ is a stumbling block that they didn't see coming. It explains that they have no power over death and must rely on faith. It also seems foolish as the world has always said you can do it, but God says you can't, so I will. In their foolish confusion, as they stumble over the cross, the risen Savior offers a hand to steady them and carry them to salvation if they will only accept His nail-pierced hand.

Then there is the problem for those who are preaching which means proclaiming Christ crucified. They are attacked with sin and struggles that they were not expecting. Yet Satan attacks because their proclamation is the power of God unto Salvation. The preaching of Christ crucified is a sword that pierces the marrow of their sin with conviction. Since Satan knows the power of the proclamation of Christ, his only assault is on those who proclaim.

We must therefore do as Paul describes to the Ephesians 6:14-17 NASB95 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Put on the armor and attack with the sword!

Preach Christ crucified!

And when you get attacked and feel like you might stumble, reach for Christ's nail-pierced hand and then Stand firm and start again.

Put on the armor and attack with the Sword!

Preach Christ crucified!

And when you get attacked and feel like you might stumble, reach for Christ's nail-pierced hand and then Stand firm and start again.

Put on the armor and attack with the Sword!

Preach Christ crucified!

And when you get attacked and feel like you might stumble, reach for Christ's nail-pierced hand and then Stand firm and start again.

It can be difficult, but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,

Love Bro. Scott
