The dangers of playing with sin are so great and yet unrealized that many a person is intrigued.
Drugs are addictive and dangerous yet new people are experimenting with them each day. The number of people who lie in a grave or are imprisoned and once had the thought that one time drug use would not cause any damage is massive. Yet that number is small when compared to the number of people who will spend eternity in hell due to trying a sin just one time.
Just one time I will look at pornography. Just one time I will cheat on my spouse. Just one time I will steal. Just one time I will lie.
Just one time, a fish will take the bait, and the hook is set. Satan knows your bait and it only takes one time for him to set the hook.
Our text says in, Romans 7:17 NASB95 So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
It only takes one time and the sin is embedded. Many get so addicted to the sin they refuse to give it up even when Jesus tells them I will carry that sin to the cross and death for you.
This addiction can even happen to followers of Christ. When you don't listen to the Holy Spirit's guidance and you follow the bait that Satan dangles in front of you, then you risk suffering the addiction of that sin. It can ruin a marriage. It can destroy a family. It can cause others to stumble and it can cause others to follow sin. Simply because it becomes your witness.
Sin then becomes just like a drug. You are so addicted to it, that you feel like you will die without it.
Please listen to Paul and don't play with sin, unless you find yourself saying, So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.
I want to close with hope. Jesus has overcome your sin, and in Him, so can you.
1 Peter 2:24 NASB95 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
If this devo arrived in time then let me encourage you to flee from Satan's sin bait.
However, if you have already been caught in the addiction of sin, remember that Jesus Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, for by His wounds, you were healed.
The joy of sin is fake. The JOY of CHRIST is real and eternal.
Sin will give you delusional disorder.
I am praying for you who are caught in delusions.
Love Bro. Scott
