How far are you willing to travel on faith?
We are taught to use our brains and make the right decisions based on knowledge. This is not necessarily a poor teaching it just doesn't go far enough. The knowledge of the finite mind is finite. It cannot give facts beyond what it has proven or seen. Faith on the other hand is the reality of what we have understood from scripture and the evidence of what our mind can't see. The Bible words it this way. Hebrews 11:1 NASB1995 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
I have said this many times and I have experienced it thousands of times over. The world teaches don't believe it until you see it. The Bible teaches have faith (believe) and God will show it to you.
Faith, requires stepping when and where God says to step even though you see no ground.
Your mind says you will fall. Faith in God says even if you fall I have a hold of you.
Your mind says you will die. Faith says even though you die you will live. John 11:25 NASB1995 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.
In your life are you willing to die knowing in faith you will live?
Many will say yes, but even in very small things that only have physical and temporal futures we will not step in faith as God says. Instead, we look for the ground in front of us.
Faith is saying God I see that 1000-foot cliff in front of me but if you say step I will step because in faith I see your salvation.
Faith is saying God I see taking this job means less money, but if you say take it I see in faith you are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord my Provider.
Faith is saying to God if I miss this event they will kick me out of the group but your word says not to forsake the gathering of the saints so in faith I will be with the church.
Faith is speaking of God when the world says be quiet. By faith, you say I will not because the gospel is the power of God for salvation so I will proclaim it.
Faith is saying I choose the fire over the simple bowing of the knee to an idol because Faith is seeing in the power of God.
While knowledge is valuable without faith it is seeing only through a finite mind!
Three young boys said, I KNOW MY GOD CAN, BUT EVEN IF HE DOESN'T I WILL FOLLOW HIM IN THE VISION OF FAITH.
Daniel 3:17-18 NASB95 “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. “But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”
How far are you willing to travel on faith?
Sometimes the road to the little temporal things is a longer walk of faith than the short trip to the furnace but both end up in the hand of God!
Walk in faith!
