Hebrews 13:1 NASB95 Let love of the brethren continue.

A very short verse but with so much information. In Greek this verse is just three words. A very literal translation of these three words could be (the brethren love endure.)

I would like to ask a question. What is your life on earth about?

Is it to have fun? Is it to raise a family? Is it to get an education? Is it to work? Is it to make money? Is it to relax and rest? Is it to teach others?

There is nothing wrong with taking part in any of these. However, scripture makes it very clear that we are to look, act, and live more like Christ everyday. We who have been saved by Grace through faith, are Christians ( Christ like, Christ followers)

Romans 8:29 NASB95 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

2 Corinthians 3:18 NASB95 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Galatians 2:20 NASB95 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

1 Peter 1:14-16 NASB95 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”

1 John 3:2 NASB95 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

Genesis 1:27 NASB95 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

If we are to be born new in Christ and conformed to His image then we need to love like Him, live like Him, have the same purpose as Him.

1 John 3:16 NASB95 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

His purpose is to love and His love was made known through His sacrifice.

Matthew 20:28 NASB95 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

What is your life on earth about?

If it is about Christ then it is about serving others in love.

Life is not about self but about love of others.

Romans 12:3 NASB95 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Being conformed into the image of Christ is to be humble in love.

What is your life on earth about? Let love of the brethren continue.

The brethren love endure.

Love Bro. Scott
