Acts 4:20 NASB95 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Have you ever had a cough you can't get rid of? It's not from a cold or congestion; it is simply a tickle or scratchy feeling in your throat. Every time you breathe in, you feel the urge to cough, and you just can't stop it.

When I was in the Marine Corps, we were conducting night vision training. Part of our training was showing us how movement was picked up by the night vision. You could be looking at a bush and not see the person hiding beside it until they moved. Then, the second there was a motion of any kind, you would be able to see them clearly. I can't explain how it works, but I have experienced it. When they are motionless, they are not there, but the second they move, you can see them. Our trainers would show us this and then explain the importance of being motionless when the enemy was looking for you. I say all of that to say this. Have you ever had an itch and tried not to scratch it? It is a whole different kind of itch when you know that if you scratch it, you will die. This type of itch will intensify to the point that it feels like torture to not scratch it. It is almost impossible not to scratch that itch!!!

This is the same type of intensity we should have when it comes to sharing the greatest news we have ever heard (the gospel). It should feel like torture to us when we don't share the amazing gift we have been given.

Unfortunately, most Christians on this earth never get to the point of completely understanding that this is an eternal life or eternal death situation. When we walk away from that opportunity of Sharing the Way to the Father and knowing that we didn't do it. Then our itch should be torturous.

If we are as close to Jesus as Peter and John were. We should know that if we don't scratch that itch them someone could suffer eternal death.

The apostles knew that scratching that itch could cause their physical death, but their eternal life was sealed. Therefore, they said We've got to scratch, and even if we die, we have the pleasure of scratching the itch of salvation for someone else.

Peter and John said, "for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

I have a cough I can't stop, and an itch I have to scratch, because Jesus is my Lord and Savior. He didn't die just for me; He died for you as well. (Oh, it feels so good to cough freely.} Jesus, who is the Son of God, after willingly paying our debt on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day and then ascended to the Father, providing the Way for us. (Wow, the cough is gone.) One of Jesus' apostles, being guided by the Holy Spirit, tells us how to be saved. ( My arm is itching; I have to scratch.) Romans 10:9-10 NASB95: that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Whew, the itch is gone. If you will place your faith in Jesus as Lord, He will save you from eternal death. You might have an uncontrollable cough and an itch to tell others, but what a relief when you do.
