Do you have a desire to please God? Not a desire to earn salvation, because we can not. It is a gift of God, not of works, so we can not boast about earning it. Salvation is by grace through faith. However, do you desire to please God simply because you love Him and He is your Lord and Savior? If you do He makes it clear to us in several places in His word how we can please Him. One of those places is our text today. Micah 6:7-8 NASB1995 Does the Lord take delight in thousands of rams, In ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my firstborn for my rebellious acts, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?

It is not the items we bring nor the fruit from our body that He requires or desires. Instead, it is for us to do justice. That is to be just in all that we do. Do the right things, follow the law of the Lord, and live according to His will. Be Christians (Christ like). This is one thing the Lord desires from us. Are we striving to give Him His desire from us? He goes on to say to love kindness. We are to love because He first loved us. We are to also be kind. To be kind is to show mercy, to forgive, and to show grace. To show mercy is to not pour out on others what they deserve. To forgive is to release a debt they owe to you. An example of this is an apology. To show grace is to give them love from you even though they don't deserve it. These are things God desires from us, to love kindness. Are we striving to give Him His desire from us? He goes on to say that He desires us to walk humbly with Him. That is to walk in His footprints, follow His path, do what He does while understanding that we don't deserve to be there. We are to do this knowing it is only by His grace that we are offered the gift of being in His presence. Jesus paid the wages of our debt of sin and offers us the gift of His salvation. Therefore, we are allowed to follow Him. This understanding helps us to HUMBLY seek to walk with God our Savior, Lord, and Father. This is one of the desires of God from us. Are we striving to give God His desire from us?

Hopefully this will help us to understand how to please God. Do justice, love kindness, And walk humbly with your God!

That is pleasing to the Lord!

Love Bro. Scott
